Start with the place

Climate, geography, available infrastructure and local needs would influence any AIVORIA location. Before choosing systems or setting performance targets, the development process would need to understand these conditions. The concept imagery shows possible futures; it is not a statement that a site has been selected or that environmental outcomes have already been achieved.

An integrated energy conversation

The vision includes clean energy and intelligent infrastructure as areas for research and planning. Future studies could examine generation, storage, demand management and the relationship between buildings and shared services. Specific technologies would need to be evaluated for the eventual location.

Mobility that connects people

Intelligent mobility is considered alongside walking, cycling, accessible routes and inviting public spaces. The purpose is to help people reach learning, work, services and social activities. Autonomous systems appear in the visualisations as part of the concept, while the suitability of any future transport model would be assessed through local planning and practical evaluation.

Green space as part of urban life

The proposed city includes planted terraces, shared outdoor areas and connections between buildings and landscape. These are prompts for a wider design conversation about comfort, biodiversity, community use and long-term maintenance. Good urban design depends on how spaces are experienced and cared for, not simply on how much greenery appears in a rendering.

Research-informed development, stage by stage

The Institute and University’s joint ambition is to turn these themes into a coherent research and development programme. Feasibility work and dialogue with potential host-country partners would help define priorities and evaluation measures. Sustainable development is treated as an ongoing design task, with learning and adjustment built into the process.
