Begin with the person, not the robot

A useful support service starts by understanding a person’s goals and preferences. In the AIVORIA concept, robotics is considered as a possible way to assist with specific tasks, help people navigate spaces or support everyday services. The intention is to widen independence and choice. A robot’s presence is not, on its own, evidence that a service is accessible or appropriate.

Inclusion across the whole journey

An accessible building is only one part of a person’s day. Routes, transport, entrances, information displays and service interactions need to work together. The city vision therefore considers physical access and digital interaction within the same planning process. Future design work should include people with lived experience, allowing barriers to be identified early rather than treated as an afterthought.

Healthcare as a development theme

The supplied AIVORIA visualisations include healthcare and robotic research environments. These illustrate an area of the wider concept, not operational medical facilities or claims about treatment outcomes. Any future healthcare service would require appropriately qualified teams, suitable infrastructure and a clearly defined delivery model. The Institute and University’s role in the concept is to connect research questions with responsible service design.

Human relationships remain central

Technology can be explored alongside the social aspects of wellbeing: welcoming public spaces, opportunities to learn, meaningful activity and a sense of belonging. AIVORIA’s proposed ecosystem is intended to connect these experiences. Human support, clear communication and the ability to choose how to interact with a service remain important design priorities.

Evaluate the experience before expanding

Future pilots should ask whether people find a service useful, understandable and comfortable to use. Feedback from residents and specialist teams would help shape the next stage. AI Vision Institute of Technology and AI Vision University are developing this inclusive perspective as part of the AIVORIA vision, with partnership and feasibility discussions still ahead.
